ABOUT DAN KOBLIN
Danny K. was born and raised in Southfield, Michigan and began his art career as a hobby. During college, he and his roommate experimented with color and texture and he fell in love with creating masterpiece art on canvas with rich and vibrant colors. Soon after completing his education at Michigan State University, he found his way out to Southern California to begin his professional career but secretly maintained his passion for painting.

HOW IT STARTED

Danny K. worked on and off in his garage for many years, experimenting, exploring and creating artwork. After a run-in with a full time artist in Laguna Beach and inspired by her journey from educator to artist, he began to quietly spend more time on his craft. He opened his private studio in 2022 and has continued to expand his artistic exploration ever since.
THE PROCESS

BUILD THE BASE
First step is deciding the size and shape of the canvas to best execute the vision then building the base with color, usually strong colors, to cover the entire canvas.

TEXTURIZE
Texture usually comes from underneath using paint or other medium available to create different effects. Pieces often require endless layers so slowly but surely they are added. Final touches with stencils and gold foil can be used.

FINISHING
Final touches are added by applying a shine coat to lock in and accentuate the vibrant colors. While some pieces can be framed, everything is created to be hung up right away.
